Steven & Danielle Detwiler

We are happy to share that Steven & Danielle Detwiler will serve on our Berks Team when they reach their ministry funding goal!

When asked to comment on his placement, Steven shared this: “We are super excited to be working with the Berks team and the campuses that are in that region. We look forward to the day when we will be able to invest in the college students in the surrounding area. It’s a great blessing and privilege to reach that area with the gospel of Jesus.”

Steven’s future team leader, David Royes, is enthusiastic to welcome him, sharing this: “We can't wait to have Steven join our team in Berks County. The Lord is opening many doors for the gospel at schools in our area and we are eager to have another laborer to help us reach the campus and make disciples!"

Please pray for Steven & Danielle as they continue to work faithfully toward their funding goal and trust the Lord to provide for their ministry with DiscipleMakers.

Becca Negro has joined the DM staff team!

Becca Negro

We are excited to announce that Becca Negro has joined the DiscipleMakers staff team! Becca is currently a senior at Susquehanna University where she expects to graduate in May 2024.

Becca is a leader in our student fellowship at Susquehanna and served in DiscipleMakers’ summer internship in 2022 where she got to experience first hand what it would look like for her to serve in college ministry full time.

Thinking back on her time with DM in college Becca shared, “Through my time as a DiscipleMakers student, I truly saw the power of the Gospel in my life and in the lives of others. I look forward to laboring for the Lord through DiscipleMakers so that college students can hear the good news of the Gospel!"

Please pray for Becca as she completes her senior year. Once she graduates, she will work on raising the funding required for her ministry with DM.

Please praise the Lord with us for another kingdom laborer!

Micah Natal has reached his ministry funding goal!

After beginning full-time fundraising in January, Micah Natal has reached his ministry funding goal and is beginning work with his assignment: to serve on campus on our Lancaster Team.

The adventure of fundraising began a bit earlier for Micah part-time just one year ago, and the journey was challenging and encouraged in a number of ways. Micah had this to say about the experience: “The Lord taught me dependence upon him and his provision. He taught me that His provision is not dependent on my tenacity or grit but upon his sovereign power and timing.”

Micah’s mentor, DM staff Mark Campbell, had much to add about Micah’s growth along the way: “[He is] a man hungry to labor for the LORD. Time and time again I saw Micah do the hard thing, the necessary thing, and the wise thing; all to meet his goal of getting on campus quickly. Mentoring Micah really looked like letting him loose, encouraging him as he worked, and praying for him. It's hard to add anything to someone as self-motivated as Micah.”

Indeed, these skills will transfer extremely well to the campus, so it’s easy to be excited at what God could do through Micah. Mark, himself an experienced campus worker, summed it up in this way: “When Micah applies his tenacity for the LORD to his work, amazing things happen. I'm confident the LORD will use Micah powerfully as he ministers to college students in the Lancaster region!”

Praise God for Micah, a faithful laborer throughout fundraising and now a hungry campus worker eager to share the Gospel message on campuses in the Lancaster area! Please pray for him in this exciting new season.

Taylor Maslin has reached her ministry funding goal!

We are happy to report that, after only beginning this past May, Taylor Maslin has successfully reached her fundraising goal and transitioned to her new role in DiscipleMakers’ Headquarters!

What’s worth celebrating, however, is not simply the funding that has come in through Taylor’s many generous and faithful supporters – but the character growth that the Lord has provided in Taylor’s life through this season. Regarding this, Taylor remarked: “You can feel desperate for a lot of things [in support raising]. For support to come in. For people to meet with. For people to like you! I learned that clinging to Jesus alone would satisfy me during that season – or in any season.”

Taylor’s support-raising mentor, Christianna Otto, agreed with Taylor’s self-assessment, adding: "Taylor really demonstrated a persistent faith throughout her support-raising. In uncertainty and mixed emotions, Taylor faithfully made a habit of returning to the Lord, looking at biblical truth, and choosing to submit to Him. I've been so encouraged by Taylor's confident, hope-filled vision throughout her support-raising!"

Indeed, support raising is more than raising funds, it’s a ministry in and of itself, teaching dependence and new skills to those who persevere. To that end, Taylor has acquired much that will benefit her new role in the Headquarters’ Event Planning Department, leading her to comment: “I learned a lot about work and rest balance in support-raising. I really think that will be helpful in my new role. Though it’s more of a “9-5 job”, there are busier seasons in my department. So, just as I practiced clinging to the Lord during the harder season of support-raising, I’ll need to practice it all the more here in State College.”

Welcome to the Headquarters, Taylor! We’re grateful to God for you.

Clark Mummau to serve on the Lehigh Valley Team!

Clark Mummau

We are happy to share that Clark Mummau will serve on the Lehigh Valley Team when he reaches his ministry funding goal!

When asked to comment on his placement, Clark shared this: “I’m so thankful for the opportunity I had during our recent Fall Conference to get to know more of the students and staff on the Lehigh Valley team. God is at work in those students, growing their faith and desire to proclaim the Gospel, and I’m eager to join that work on campus soon.”

Clark’s future team leader, Brian Parker, is enthusiastic to welcome him, sharing this: “[Clark’s] skill in studying and heart to apply the Bible will help students to see the treasures found in God's Word. He has a genuine heart to serve others, and will be a real blessing to many on campus." This should come as no surprise to Clark’s friends and supporters, given his recent graduation from Grove City College, where he received a degree in Biblical and Religious Studies and Christian Ministries.

After being launched earlier this year, Clark is not far from reaching his goal – God has provided 69% of his DiscipleMakers funding so far. Praise God for this significant milestone, and please pray for Clark as he races toward his goal.

Jay Svec to serve in our Finance Department!

Jay Svec

We’re excited to announce that Jay Svec will serve in the Finance Department at the DiscipleMakers Headquarters when he reaches his ministry funding goal!

Upon learning about his placement, Jay shared this: “I am excited to use my Accounting Degree to serve the very ministry that helped me grow so much in my faith. I pray that our efforts in the HQ free up our campus staff to maximize their time with students so that they can be ministered to just as much as I was as a student!”

Jay’s future team leader, HQ staff Brandon Wenger, added this: I'm thrilled for Jay to join our Finance Department to help us serve our staff and donors. This is an answer to prayer!

Jay received news of his placement after reaching a significant milestone in his fundraising; God quickly provided 50% of his DiscipleMakers funding goal, and currently sits at 78%! This is notable as he just began raising support in May. Please pray for Jay as he hopes to finish before the end of the year and join our Headquarters team as we prepare for the new year!

Steven & Danielle Detwiler have joined the DiscipleMakers staff team!

We are excited to announce that Steven & Danielle Detwiler have joined the DiscipleMakers staff team! God has done much to align them with the values of DiscipleMakers, as they bring combined experience in the areas of children and youth ministry. They both have hearts to reach the next generation, and we are happy they’ll be using their giftings to advance the kingdom of God on the college campus!

Upon accepting their new position with the ministry, Steven described his excitement saying this: “Danielle and I have been radically transformed by the gospel of Christ and have committed our lives and marriage to His mission of making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:16-20). Biblical discipleship has greatly impacted our walk with the Lord, and we look forward to what God has in store for our ministry with DiscipleMakers.”

Please pray for these two as they raise up a team of prayer and financial partners for their ministry with DiscipleMakers. Pray that the Lord would provide and that He would use Steven & Danielle’s ministry with college students to reach the world with the Gospel!

Taylor Maslin to serve in our Event Planning Department!

Taylor Maslin

We’re excited to announce that Taylor Maslin will serve in the Event Planning Department at the DiscipleMakers Headquarters when she reaches her ministry funding goal!

Upon learning about her placement, Taylor had this to say: ”The Lord has shown me through many different experiences in my life how much I enjoy planning and organizing lots of details. This insight has made me so excited to be serving in the Event Planning department! I can’t wait to be serving all of our campuses in this role at our Headquarters!”

Our event planner, Kate, was thrilled to hear of Taylor’s excitement to join her department. She remarked: “More people means more new ideas that make our events more successful in providing students with unhindered opportunities to hear the gospel preached.”

Taylor received news of her placement after reaching a significant milestone in her fundraising; God has quickly provided 50% of her DiscipleMakers funding goal! This is notable as she just began raising support in May, having graduated with a master’s degree from Penn State University Park. Please pray for Taylor as she raises the remainder of her ministry funding, and that God will continue to speed her along and bring her to our Headquarters as we prepare for another exciting year of events!

Megan Weik has reached her ministry funding goal!

Megan Weik

We’re pleased to announce that Megan Weik has completed her initial fundraising for her ministry with DiscipleMakers! Having reached this milestone, Megan will begin ministering to college students at Gettysburg College and Shippensburg University this fall.

Since June 2022, Megan has been working on recruiting a team of partners to support her ministry with DiscipleMakers through prayer and financial support.

Upon reaching her funding goal Megan had this to share: “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps” (Prov. 16:9) Ultimately God determines success. I fundraised knowing God provides, and it has been such a blessing to see the Lord doing that throughout my support-raising journey. It has been a joy to invite others into the work God is already doing. Support raising has been one of the best opportunities to love God and make Him known. I can’t wait to continue to do that on a college campus in a couple of weeks!”

Megan also walked through her support-raising journey alongside her mentor Carolyn Falcone who had this to share: “Megan is a woman who is passionate about making Christ known, and that was evident throughout her entire support-raising journey. Her love for the gospel and her zeal for the Lord came through in almost every conversation. It's no wonder that so many amazing people were excited to join her prayer and financial support teams for her ministry with DiscipleMakers! When Megan faced trials along this journey, she clung to Christ and His promises. The Lord has been faithful, and I can't wait to see how He faithfully works through Megan as she starts on campus!”

Praise God with us for His provision to send another laborer into the harvest field on campus!

Justin Negron has reached his ministry funding goal!

Justin Negron

We’re pleased to announce that Justin Negron has reached his ministry funding goal! Justin will now transition to his next ministry assignment: ministering to students at Kutztown University and schools in the surrounding area as a member of DM’s Berks Team.

Justin has been working on recruiting a team of partners to support his ministry with DiscipleMakers through prayer and financial support for a little over a year now.

“To no one's surprise, the Lord has provided!” he said. “I'm looking forward to joining the effort to raise up not only disciples, but disciple makers”

Jordan Eyster, Justin’s mentor through the support-raising journey, shared, “During this support-raising season, Justin demonstrated a mighty trust in God and commitment to his future mission of making disciples on campus.

He faced trials and difficulties, and through it all, deeply entrusted himself to God’s provision and grace. Justin has a strong passion to describe the good news of the gospel, and it saturated his support-raising work. This boldness for Christ will undoubtedly carry him on to make a tremendous impact on campus. I’m eager to see God continue to use this faithful man of God!”

Praise God with us for sending another laborer into His harvest field on campus!
