Our 25 by ’25 Goal

Since 1981, DiscipleMakers has sought to fulfill Jesus’ Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations” by investing deeply in the lives of college students. By God’s grace, what began as a part-time effort on one campus had grown such that by 2015 we had established ministries on 11 campuses. That year, we set a long-term goal: to reach 25 campuses with disciple-making staff by 2025.

 As we grow, we endeavor to emulate Jesus’ strategy of investing deeply in potential leaders. Though at times He spoke to great crowds, Jesus’ earthly ministry focused on the small group of disciples He was preparing to send into the world to share the good news of His Kingdom.

 Similarly, DiscipleMakers missionaries invest deeply in students’ lives through labor-intensive methods like one-on-one mentoring and small-group Bible studies. We aim to represent the Lord as we train the next generation of disciple makers for the church. We do this by helping the gospel penetrate deeply into students’ hearts one relationship at a time; such ministry cannot be mass-produced.

 As a result, we are seeing our campus fellowships grow tremendously in depth and maturity. God is giving us many strong, robust fellowships populated by committed disciples. In fact, on many of our campuses, students, rather than staff, are doing the majority of discipling. As we strive to expand our reach to an increased number of campuses, God is continuing to multiply the number of disciples.

 Currently, the best opportunity for further growth involves establishing ministries at new campuses. Doing so will require continued growth to our staff team, but we believe that over the coming years, God will continue to provide laborers to advance His Kingdom.

 Please join us in praying that God will raise up laborers for the harvest field on campus so that by 2025 we will see Him sending out disciple-making students from 25 campuses.
