Connor McChesney and Gabby Klepeiss to serve on the Penn State Team!

Connor McChesney and Gabby Klepeiss

We’re excited to announce that Connor McChesney and Gabby Klepeiss will serve on our Penn State Campus Team when they reach their ministry funding goal! We’re also excited to announce a huge factor in this shared placement: They are engaged to be married!

To some, this news may not be a surprise, as Connor and Gabby became friends while attending the DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship at Kutztown University during their sophomore year. This friendship grew into a relationship a year later as they served on the leadership team together, and all the more as they served together as DM campus interns last year where they were heavily involved in summer outreach and discipleship at Penn State’s main campus.

So, when they both pursued careers with our staff team earlier this year, it was no surprise that marriage would follow close behind. The Lord has also kindly aligned their ministry placement desires, as they expressed a desire to serve full-time at Penn State as campus staff once their support raising is complete. Penn State has a special place in our hearts,” Gabby remarked. “The internship showed us both how much we loved serving on campus, and we’re so happy to be looking forward to serving together.” We’re all happy to see them get their wish, the Penn State campus team especially so. Team leader Matt Geiger added this: “I had the privilege of working with Connor and Gabby as interns, and now I'm thrilled to see how God will use them with us full-time on campus!”

When will they finish support raising and land on the Penn State team? The Lord knows, though Connor and Gabby would love to hit the 50% mark by their wedding date, which is set for October 26th. Would you pray for that goal, and pray perhaps even that they would exceed it? Please also pray for them as they prepare to begin their next chapter together as husband and wife.

Congratulations, Connor and Gabby!

Nate Reimer has joined the DM staff team!

Nate Reimer

We are thrilled to announce that Nate Reimer has joined the DiscipleMakers staff team! Nate is currently a senior at Muhlenberg College where he expects to graduate in May 2024, and has appreciated his involvement with the DiscipleMakers student group there.

When we asked Nate to share his thoughts, here’s what he said: “Through my time as a student at Muhlenberg College, I have realized that my desire is to see people living outside of God's grace come to know Him through Christ for their salvation and to God's glory. I can't wait to live out that desire by serving Him in full-time ministry!”

Please pray for Nate as he completes his senior year. Once he graduates, he will work on raising the funding required for his ministry with DM.

Please praise the Lord with us for another worker for the great harvest on college campuses!

Rebekah Fodale has reached her ministry funding goal!

Rebekah Fodale

Exciting news to announce! Rebekah Fodale has successfully reached her fundraising goal and is transitioning to her new campus role on the Penn State team, with a particular focus on reaching international students.

Over the past ten months, the Lord generously provided all of Rebekah’s funding needs, but that’s not all. Character growth is a substantial way in which God grows His people during the season of support-raising. Rebekah’s mentor, DM staff Megan Royes, had this to say about how she saw God grow Rebekah during the process: “Rebekah showed remarkable faithfulness, courage, and humility in her season of support raising-- always quick to ask for help, implement ideas, and obey the Lord, even if that meant facing her fears. She has come out of her support raising with a greater love for others, a commitment to prayerfulness, and a deeper conviction of her calling.”

Both looking back and anticipating the new season ahead, Rebekah shared this: "God abundantly provided for me in the season of support raising in such beautiful and unexpected ways. I'm excited to see how He will continue to work as I come alongside international students who have never heard the hope of Christ before!"

We praise the Lord for providing for another one of His beloved workers. Congratulations, Rebekah! We’re proud of you.

Gabby Klepeiss has joined the DM staff team!

Gabby Klepeiss

We are excited to announce that Gabby Klepeiss has joined the DiscipleMakers staff team! Gabby is currently a senior at Kutztown University where she expects to graduate in May 2024, and has appreciated her involvement with the DiscipleMakers student group there.

Thinking back on her time with DM in college Gabby said this: “Through college ministry, I have witnessed first-hand the life-changing power of the gospel. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to labor for the Lord's harvest so that all can have a chance to apply this redeeming truth to their own lives!”

Please pray for Gabby as she completes her senior year. Once she graduates, she will work on raising the funding required for her ministry with DM.

Please praise the Lord with us for another kingdom laborer!

Mike Usilton has reached his ministry funding goal!

Mike Usilton

Great news! Mike Usilton has successfully reached his fundraising goal and transitioned to his new role in the DiscipleMakers Headquarters in State College. Mike tenaciously worked at support raising, beginning back in June and finishing in mid-February.

The Lord has provided all of Mike’s funding, but that’s not all. Character growth is a substantial way in which God grows His people during the season of support-raising. Mike had this to say as he reflected on the journey: “I learned how to be brought low and blessed. There were seasons where it was hard and I had a lot of failures and missed opportunities. There were also seasons where I was courageous and willing to take big steps of faith to speak publicly and meet people I never imagined I’d meet. My outlook changed and, by the end, I realized support-raising was a real opportunity for ministering to people.”

Mike would like to offer thanks to his parents for their encouragement and support along the way, along with Meadowcroft Church, which became his home church as he was raising support.

Finally, Mike would like to thank his support-raising mentor, Josh Herring, for helping to guide him through support-raising. Having a front-row seat, Josh had this to add about God’s good work in Mike’s life through support raising: “Time and time again, Mike humbly resolved to live by faith as he grew in the joy of fearing God and not people. God has placed a great burden on Mike's heart for the lost to know Christ, and it was evident that this fueled his ministry over the past eight months.”

Praise the Lord for His good work! Mike is now already hard at work in the Headquarters, helping to support our campus staff.

Congratulations, Mike!

Clark Mummau has reached his ministry funding goal!

Clark Mummau

We are happy to report that Clark Mummau has successfully reached his fundraising goal and transitioned to his new role on the Lehigh Valley team! Clark worked very hard to meet the goal, especially when he was able to transition to full-time fundraising in June of last year.

While we praise God for the full funding that has come in through Clark’s many generous and faithful supporters, it’s not the only thing we’re celebrating. What we’re also excited about the character growth that the Lord brought about during his season of support raising. In fact, Clark had this to say about how specifically he saw the Lord grow him: “General discipline was the main thing [I learned]. Being willing to follow God even when my next steps weren’t so clear. To that end, I quickly discovered that support raising was something I couldn’t do alone. Because of that, I was so thankful for the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and for so many friends and family who helped me along the way: specifically, my parents, my mentor [Chris], and the many other DM staff who were in a season of support raising right alongside me.”

Now, as Clark transitions to the Lehigh Valley, he has already been welcomed heartily by his new teammates. His new team leader, Joel Martin, was eager to share how much he was looking forward to working with Clark, saying this: “The Lehigh Valley team has a deep need for more laborers, especially among our freshmen and younger students. I'm eager to see what God does as Clark focuses his efforts on the younger students and seeks to transform that generation for the kingdom of Christ.”

Congratulations, Clark! We’re grateful to God for your faithful, continued labors.

Chris Talluto Has Joined DiscipleMakers' Staff Team!

Chris Talluto

We are happy to announce that Chris Talluto has joined the DiscipleMakers staff team! Chris will be graduating from Elizabethtown College in May of 2024 where he is an active student leader in our Christian Fellowship there. Chris also participated in DiscipleMakers’ internship program during the summer of 2023.

Upon the acceptance of his new position with DiscipleMakers, Chris said, “I am excited to proclaim Jesus Christ and Him crucified to those in the same setting that I first heard the Gospel.”

Please pray along with us as Chris finishes up at Elizabethtown next semester and begins raising up a team of prayer and financial supporters for his ministry with DiscipleMakers. Pray that the Lord would provide, and that He would bless Chris’s ministry to college students for many years to come!

Jay Svec has reached his ministry funding goal!

Jay Svec

We are happy to report that Jay Svec has successfully reached his fundraising goal and transitioned to his new role in DiscipleMakers’ Headquarters!

What’s worth celebrating, however, is not simply the funding that has come in through Jay’s many generous and faithful supporters – but the character growth that the Lord has provided in Jay’s life through this season. Regarding this, Jay remarked: “The Lord has taught me many things throughout this experience. He has taught me that all resources, especially money, belong to Him, not me. He has shown me that He will provide every need of mine, even when I have no idea how or when that will happen. My work or effort is not the driver to accomplishing things in life, but rather His sovereign hand working beyond what I can see.”

Jay’s support-raising mentor, Jared Knorr, agreed with Jay’s self-assessment, adding: "I was really encouraged during my time mentoring Jay. He was always wrestling with the Lord in the midst of not being in control, continuously coming out on the other side praising God for the hard times. Jay was always looking for the ways that the Lord was growing him, and stepping out in confident faith. I am so thankful to have witnessed the Lord's work in Jay firsthand."

Indeed, support raising is more than raising funds, it’s a ministry in and of itself, teaching dependence and new skills to those who persevere. To that end, Jay has acquired much that will benefit his new role in the Headquarters’ Finance Department.

Welcome to the Headquarters, Jay! We’re grateful to God for you.

Tyler also participated in DiscipleMakers’ internship program during the summer of 2022.

Upon the acceptance of his new position with DiscipleMakers, Tyler said, “I am eager to join DisciplesMakers and the ministry’s efforts to help students study the Scriptures, grow in their relationship with Jesus, and experience complete joy in Him alone!”

Please pray along with us as Tyler finishes up at Lebanon Valley next semester and begins raising up a team of prayer and financial supporters for his ministry with DiscipleMakers. Pray that the Lord would provide, and that He would bless Tyler’s ministry to college students for many years to come!
