George and Becky Della Piazza
Campus Staff
For both of the Della Piazzas, the Lord used their college years to really solidify the truth that Jesus displayed His love for us by living a sinless life, and on the cross He exchanged His glory for the shame we earned through our sin.
For Becky, her time with DiscipleMakers at Kutztown University revealed to her how long and hard she spent perfecting her identity, so that her imperfection would not be exposed. She really feared being devalued by the world. Without Jesus, her sin exposed the real Becky, despite her efforts to cover her shame.
For George, his time at Geneva College showed him how his sin had led him to feel apathetic towards God’s Word. He was born and raised in the church, believed in God, studied the truth of the Bible, knew Jesus as His Savior, and felt the work of the Holy Spirit throughout his entire life. However, it wasn’t until college that the Lord convicted him of his apathetic Christian life and truly awakened his love for Him.
Both George and Becky are now convinced of the eternal hope that Jesus exchanges their sin and shame for a new identity, and they have the joy of sharing that truth with college students!
