Give from your IRA
If you are 70½ or older and have a traditional IRA, you can achieve tax benefits while supporting the ministry of DiscipleMakers by giving directly from your IRA. (This is sometimes referred to as an IRA charitable rollover gift.)
Benefits of Giving from Your IRA
Distributions made to DiscipleMakers are tax-free up to $100,000 per year.
Gifts from your IRA count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
Giving directly from your IRA reduces your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.
Gifts are not subject to the 50% deduction limits on charitable gifts.
How to Give from Your IRA
Contact your IRA custodian and let them know you want to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. The gift needs to be made payable to DiscipleMakers.
Have your custodian mail the check to:
DiscipleMakers
365 Science Park Road
State College, PA 16803Fill out our IRA Gift Advance Notice Form below to let us know your preference for how the gift is used (e.g. for a particular missionary). Many custodians send a check without any indication of how the donor prefers it to be used.
We will mail an acknowledgment letter to you once we receive the IRA gift.
Note: Giving from your IRA directly reduces your taxable income. For this reason, IRA gifts may not be claimed as deductions when filing your tax return. Please talk with your financial advisor for any specific questions or more information.
